CHILL OUT AT COAST CAFE

West Kiosk, Beach Parade, Worthing BN11 2FG

The town’s East Beach has seen significant change recently. Art galleries and cool little spots are opening up right along this once-overlooked strip of shoreline. This is where you’ll find Coast Cafe. This converted Regency villa is an ideal place to hang out on warm summer evenings.

It boasts a brilliant menu, packed with premium, locally sourced ingredients from local producers, an extensive drinks menu and loads of reliable nighttime events.

FIND MOVIE MAGIC AT DOME CINEMA

21-22 Marine Parade, Worthing BN11 3PT

Some cinemas merely show films, but this landmark picture hall can be seen in productions as diverse as My Policeman, Wish You Were Here, Ultimate Wedding Planner and Black Mirror. Featuring three superb screens, the architecture of this Grade II* listed building is almost as big a draw as the packed programme of blockbusters and compelling independent films.

Only 20 years ago, The Dome was facing demolition, but thanks to some dedicated locals it was restored and revitalised, becoming one of the busiest cinemas in the country – thanks in part to the venue’s friendly staff and impeccable film offerings.

GRAB SOME FRESH SEAFOOD AT CRAB SHACK

2 Marine Parade, Worthing BN11 3PN

This family-run restaurant and beach bar has a huge terrace overlooking the channel. It’s the best place in Worthing for seafood and friendly service. While the ambience is relaxed, their attitude to their food serious. With a constantly changing menu, depending on what is available and super fresh, very plate is packed with passion.

Whether sitting outside watching the sunset with a tasty cocktail, or sat inside with a filling three-course meal on a winters day, this is one place you want tot miss.

26 Guildbourne Centre, Worthing BN11 1LZ

Fancy pitting yourself against some of the country’s finest game designers? Worthing boasts one of the country’s best escape rooms, where teams overcome complex puzzles against the clock. In Trapped for Cash, particpants become contestants on the last ever episode of a 90s TV game-show where solving puzzles can earn you big money. But can you defeat the final round?

Inspired by local history, Smugglers Run draws you into a tale of corruption and revenge.  Mindworks’ original and award-nominated room sees players outwit the Commissioner of Worthing and uncover his stash of booze.

Check their website for regular special offers. Or, if you live in East Worthing, they have another venue on Church Walk, which whisks you into a world of Cold War paranoia in 80s Berlin.
